ABSTRACT
Home 1300 VA electrical installation is a simple installation that use voltage 220 volt 1 phase. The voltage
tolerance of PLN service from increase or decrease working voltage is +5% and -10%. But the actual
voltage sometimes exceed or less than the limit of working voltage. That will cause directly damage to the
costumer’s equipment. There is no over voltage protection equipment for low voltage network costumer. So
the purpose of this research is to design a equipment for overvoltage protection on the 1300 VA home
installation. The equipment used to detect the over voltage on the 1 phase voltage system. Working voltage’s
read using non CT 1A transformer. Output from transformer processed using signal conditioning circiut to
generate a digital output. The digital output used to microcontroller input. The microcontroller will decide
whether normal voltage or over voltage. When over voltage detected, microcontroller cut the load contactor
so the load equipment safe from over voltage interference. The result of this research is system capable to cut
the load connection if detect the voltage over 242 volt more than 5 second.
