ABSTRACT
The proccess of monitoring and measuring of transformer at PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Dukuh Kupang Area
Surabaya Selatan is done basically during peak load hours in the field. Ussualy berween 18.00-22.00 local
time. The distribution substation sometimes have different peak load hours, in the morning, afternoon, night,
and sometimes at daybreak. Taking into account different peak load hours at different substation, the
determination of peak load hour, which at this time is still done manually. Is considered to be ineffective. As
an attemp to overcome this, in this research it is planned to design a monitor and data storage which
function to monitor the transformer on distribution substation around the clock and this has been tried on
distribution substayion no BC-759 located at Jl. Gayungsari no.171 Surabaya. From the monitoring it is
obtained that the peak load hours happen between 10.17-14.32 local time and the highest peak load with
power per phase R=9754,26 VA, S=10231 VA, and T=10013 VA. It also states that the load percentage on
the transformer is 60%, henceforth the condition of the distribution substation can be informed earlier
whether overload or not.
