ABSTRACT
The development of a village is influenced by the potential activities. ln Wedoro
village, there are two potential activities, that is the social organization and the footwear home-
industry. The objectives of this research is to study the influence of the social organization and
the footwear home-industry as a potential activity on the development of Wedoro Village, East
Java.
The method used is a descriptive method of the qualitative research. The results of this
research indicate that the activity of Majelis Taklim as a social organization in Wedoro village
is influential on the village development through the internal power fonning. The foonvear
home-industry influences the development of Wedoro village by the income increase, the
opening of the opportunity of new employrnent and business, the increasing cooperation
relation, etc
