ABSTRACT

An offshore hydrocarbon exploration by means of a floating structure that has equipments for production,
storage and offloading (FPSO) needs a suitable mooring system in such that the activity can be performed
effectively and efficiently.
A buoy mooring system is an alternative to moor a ship and support production and offloading process. In
mooring case of 2 (two) buoys, motion response and maximum tension line are analyzed in which one or
more of the mooring lines was broken.
A numerically approach by using SHIPMO and Orcaflex Codes is used for determining a Response
Amplitude Operators (RAO) and Mooring Lines Tension. The simulation are carried out for two buoy
numbers of mooring system at intact and damage condition. These results are compared to establish whether
the mooring system is safe.
