PREDIKSI PERILAKU DINAMIS FPU PADA TAHAPAN TRANSPORTASI MELALUI PENGUJIAN MODEL

ABSTRACT

Floating Production Unit (FPU) barges play an important role in oil and gas exploration activities. In case,
FPU barge has to be towed from assembling area to site, a dynamic behavior often arises. This phenomenon
should be minimized to avoid sea accidents. Some efforts have been performed theoretically to describe and
predict the dynamic behavior of barge or ship whilst underway. But, in order to get a prediction results more
accuratelly, a model testing of towed barge are needed. In the model testing, a various conditions of tow line
length, towing speed, barge draught and sea conditions were selected as parameters. The test results are
presented in graphs to describe motion response of FPU barge during towed.
